We understand that sometimes it is necessary for children to bring medication to school, however where possible medication should be avoided. If medication is essential the following procedures must be followed:
- Medication is to be taken to the School Office together with a letter from the child’s parent authorising the administration of the medication and giving clear instructions as to the dose and time to be taken.
- Medicines, tablets etc. will be stored either in the Administration Officer’s drawer or the Staffroom fridge.
- Medication will usually be administered by office staff and recorded in the medication book.
NO MEDICINES ARE TO BE KEPT IN CLASSROOMS OR CHILDREN’S BAGS.
